Pictures are now available from August 25th‘s Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) Gala. There, Aaron Tveit provided entertainment for the evening, which helped ring in the new season of shows at TPAC (including Catch Me If You Can). Aaron appropriately performed staple Catch Me tunes like “Goodbye,” “Someone Else’s Skin,” and “Seven Wonders,” along with his famous version of Next To Normal‘s “I’m Alive.” For the lucky audience in attendance, they also got to hear him sing “If I Loved You” (a personal favorite of mine) and Stephen Sondheim’s “Finishing The Hat.”

Last night, July 16th, Aaron Tveit attended the off-Broadway opening night of the new musical, Dogfight, at Second Stage. Directed by Joe Mantello (Wicked) and featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (who wrote “Along The Way”), the musical was a perfect opportunity for a night out to support friends. Check out an exclusive picture sent to ATF featuring Aaron with good friend, Annaleigh Ashford, who is also starring in the show. BroadwayWorld provides a summary of Dogfight below:

It’s November 21, 1963. On the eve of their deployment to a small but growing conflict in Southeast Asia, three young Marines set out for one final boys’ night of debauchery, partying, and maybe a little trouble. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion.

On July 5th, the Broadway Softball League returned to their regularly scheduled games. Players went on to bat for the eleventh time of the season, pitting Aaron Tveit’s summer team – Rock of Ages – against War Horse. Unfortunately, RoA lost their first game of 2012, with a final score of 10-4. (We’ll just blame it on the heat, right?) Only one picture of Aaron is available from the day, but it’s been added to the gallery.

Aaron took a break from Les Mis duties to fly back to New York and participate in the annual Broadway Show League! Although he isn’t performing on Broadway this season, he has joined the Rock of Ages team. (If you remember last year’s games, ROA competed against Catch Me If You Can for the title.) The game took place on Thursday, April 26th, with ROA scoring an impressive 18-3 win over Newsies. Photos from the event have been added to the gallery.

In case you aren’t aware, the BSL happens every year at Central Park. Numerous cast and crew from current Broadway productions join together over the summer season to play softball, which anyone can watch from the sidelines. If you’re interested in catching a game, check out the schedule at BSL’s official site and head over to Heckscher Ballfields for some ball. Aaron will be playing on Team Rock of Ages again starting in June.
