Broadway Show League – Championship Game #2

August 26, 2011 • Category: Catch Me If You Can, Gallery, Public Appearances 0

The Broadway Show League held their last game of the 2011 season, with Catch Me If You Can and Rock Of Ages competing for the championship title on August 25th. The game was close – at 2-5, Rock Of Ages – but was forced to end early due to the rainy weather. (Aaron Tveit Fan likes to think that Catch Me would have won had there been enough time left to catch up!) Pictures from the game have been added to the Gallery. Congratulations to all the teams involved for a great season!

On August 11th, Aaron Tveit hit Heckscher Fields for two games of softball. It was the Broadway Show League’s playoffs, games four and five, in which Catch Me If You Can had to compete against Mary Poppins and Rock of Ages (respectively). Although Catch Me hadn’t won many games during the season, they’ve been a vengeful playoff streak, winning every single game — including the two held on Thursday! They beat both teams by one point, 7-6 over Mary Poppins and 4-3 over Rock of Ages. They’ll now be playing in the championship game on August 18th. Good luck to Team Catch Me!

Aaron Goes Golfing to Support the Actors Fund

On July 25th, Aaron Tveit attended the The Actors Fund’s CelebriTEE Golf and Tennis Outing. There, he made a special appearance playing golf and helping raise money for the fund. He was there with his father, Stanley, who also competed in the games. A couple of pictures from the event have been added to the Gallery, and you can read a bigger summary on the day below:

Last Monday, Actors Fund supporters — and sports enthusiasts — headed to Tenafly’s historic Knickerbocker Country Club for The Fund’s CelebriTEE Golf & Tennis Outing, proceeds of which benefited The Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood. In spite of the inclement weather, attendees spent the afternoon playing their choice of golf or tennis, then headed to the clubhouse for a cocktail hour, during which Golf Chair Peter Gallagher introduced the day’s Tennis Chair, Liz Callaway, who sang two perfectly-chosen medleys accompanied by Phil Reno. Dinner also featured an exciting raffle of golf equipment, led by our friends at IATSE-Local One – including Robert “Toby” McDonough and Bobby Score, to whom we extend a special thank-you for managing the entire outing! Also joining our guests were Aaron Tveit, star of Catch Me If You Can, and Ernie Sabella, most recently starring in the Broadway hit Curtains, both of whom did well out there on the course!

Remember: The previous night, on July 24th, Catch Me If You Can had a special performance for The Actors Fund. A picture from that night can also now be seen in the Gallery.

It appears he also brought his family along to show their support to Aaron and the Catch Me team.
