85th Annual Academy Awards

This evening (February 24th), Aaron Tveit attended the 85th annual Academy Awards — his first! There are plenty of pictures of him on the red carpet, looking sharp in a suit and a pair of fun striped socks. He and the Les Misérables cast – including Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen – all joined together onstage to sing as a group for the first time.
As part of a musical medley (celebrating Chicago, Dreamgirls, and Les Mis), the cast performed “One Day More.” Although it was truncated a bit, Aaron still had time to shine as he commanded the stage with Enjolras’ fiery passion. Check it out:

Hello, Can some please answer this question and put an end to this debate I have been having:
Does/Did Aaron have his ears pierced?
I made a bet with a friend who says that he never did. But I think he did if you look at both his ears they seem to have scars from where they once were.
Thanks

Hey, Kyle! Yup, Aaron has pierced ears. There’s an old photo of him wearing earrings (large diamond studs), which I can’t seem to find, but I’ll share it if I happen to come across it again!

Here is a link to that picture. It was from when he was in hairspray and he has like a popped collar. http://www.flickr.com/photos/82737025@N00/106705411/

Not sure if you saw Martha’s reply, but she was kind enough to provide that picture I mentioned earlier: http://www.flickr.com/photos/82737025@N00/106705411/
Show your friend. You’ve won this bet!

Thanks Kristina and Martha… Wow. I myself am quite surprised by this one. Strange he doesn’t really wear them anymore.

I loved how Aaron Tveit was in complete character as Enjolras on stage. He swaggered out, ready for a revolution with his red pocket square!

Thought the same thing. How he was so Enjoras! Even without wig or costume.
He is the best Enjoras I’ve ever seen.
I didn’t know anything about him before I saw him in Les Mis, where he instantly put a spell on me!
But have been enjoying all the information on this site so much and espcially finding here what other great parts Aaron has played on stage and film and what a lovely guy he is.
Keep up the good work!

Hi Kristina,
Could you possibly help out with these …
1. An URL address for the you tube video of Aaron’s singing “Goodbye” on the last night of CMIYC. I know it’s out there somewhere.
2. Is there a you tube video of him singing “Something I can’t see” … haven’t seen one.
3. Do you think there any chance Aaron and his team will record the upcoming concert for CD and/or DVD distribution? Anything we can do to encourage that?
Thanks for keeping us up to date on this remarkable young man … looking forward to Graceland!

Hey, Mary Ann!
1. As far as I know, there’s no video clip of Aaron singing the final “Goodbye,” just the audio (which you can find right here).
2. There may have been a video at one point, but it’s no longer available online. Again, just the audio clip seems to be floating around.
3. There are currently no plans; however, 54 Below apparently has an amazing sound system that could capture an amazing [audio] performance for us. I had actually been considering measuring interest levels for a concert album and seeing if that would inspire 54 Below to release something officially. I’ve already gotten so many requests for a recording that I think they’d see great sales from an album.

Thanks, Kristina. Please work your magic with 54 Below and get a concert recording … we need to be able to hear more from Aaron. I love the range of his voice and the fact that everything he sings just touches me so.
I’m seeing CMIYC in Detroit this May … I know that I will not hear whomever is singing but will hear Aaron since I listen to the CD so much! Thanks for answering my question. Enjoy Aaron’s concerts; I know they will be unbelievable. Wish I could be there.
