The New York Times has just reported the very disappointing news that Catch Me If You Can will be closing on September 4th. Understudies Jay Johnson and Alex Ellis also confirmed the close on their Twitter accounts.

On the plus side, Broadway World reported that there will be a national tour for the musical, starting at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island in 2012. It’s still not confirmed whether or not Aaron Tveit will be part of the touring cast, but hopefully we’ll hear more information soon.
