Back in mid-April, Hamilton‘s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda teased about an upcoming #Ham4Ham with Aaron Tveit (aptly dubbed #Tveit4Ham). Featuring special guests, #Ham4Ham is a pre-show “experience” for fans who entered the Hamilton lottery to win day-of tickets to the otherwise sold-out show. Since its conception, it has become a hot event, not unlike the musical Hamilton itself!
Although initially thought to happen “in the lusty month of May,” schedules never quite matched up — until today. Finally, the wait for Tveit was over.
Because Lin-Manuel will soon be leaving Hamilton, the first order of business was to introduce his #Ham4Ham successor: Rory O’Malley of Book Of Mormon fame. Rory revisited his number from the hit Broadway musical, “Turn It Off,” about repressing certain tendencies. It wasn’t long after that Aaron Tveit emerged from the doors, surprising fans with a rendition of “I’m Alive” from Next To Normal – yet another Broadway success story – and practically seducing Rory’s sexually confused Elder McKinley in the process. Fans went wild, proving it was all well worth the wait.
