Out of Oz: Wicked Studio Sessions: “Defying Gravity”

October 19, 2015 • Category: General News, Wicked 1

Back in September, Aaron posted a teaser on his Instagram, stating “something really fun coming soon.” Today, fans finally got to see/hear what the new project was: a cover of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.

As part of a new series called “Out Of Oz: Wicked Studio Sessions,” Wicked alumnus and current performers are asked to sing “reimagined versions of Wicked songs.” In this instance, former Fiyero Aaron Tveit joined forces with Rachel Tucker – currently playing the role of Elphaba on Broadway – and dueted a stunningly stripped down version of “Defying Gravity.” You can listen to the song (over and over again) at the video above.

  1. I really enjoyed the videos in the series, I hope it is released in an album as well. I have always wanted to hear Defying Gravity performed by a guy in a lower range. It is great!

    Thanks!
